Twisted Witch Endurance Ride was a Huge Success
The Clermont County Convention and Visitors Bureau welcomed the Twisted Witch Horse Endurance Ride at East Fork State Park on Oct. 14. This ride welcomed both out of town visitors and Cincinnati locals for what was considered the first horse endurance ride at East Fork in over 20 years.
“I am ecstatic that the CVB was able to help host and support this inaugural event,” said Joel Barnhill, Director of Sports for the Clermont County Convention and Visitors Bureau. “We look forward to having endurance horse riding at East Fork for many years to come,” he added.
The event had over 70 participants with their respected horse and gathered another 25 for spectating. The event offered a variety of distances including 75 miles, 50 miles and 25 miles, they also hosted an introductory ride on Sunday. Event headquarters were at Grassy Acres Horse Retreat where most of the participants camped and then enjoyed a dinner after the event.
“The Twisted Witch was a great start to what we hope will become an annual tradition at East Fork State Park,” said Event Director, Karri Wilson. “All the riders seemed to enjoy themselves and liked having a new course in this region on which to compete,” she added.
Wilson, Barnhill and the rest of the local organizing team member are working to secure the date for next year’s event and an announcement will be made once details are final.
